The Blue Grass project is dedicated to my dear friend and exhibit designer, Aaron. He is my first American friend whom I met in San Francisco just a couple of weeks after my arrival to this country. On the next day after our meeting, Aaron gifted me with a brand new drawing table. Over 30 years later, I am still using this table and stay close friends with Aaron and his beautiful

family. As a bluegrass musician himself, Aaron invited me to San Francisco’s annual Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival. That same evening we went to meet with his friends and fellow musicians, who improvised on their instruments throughout the night. This series of drawings and paintings are my visual record of that wonderful event.
