The events of the 9/11 tragedy are unforgettable to us all. I clearly remember that day, which I spent glued to the TV screen in total disbelief and shock. On that day, I was very far away from the East Coast, but my later visit to the 9|11 Memorial was extremely impactful. The memorial’s architecture is strong, dramatic, and breathtaking. I found myself slowly walking around each

footprint of the vanished twin towers. I gazed downward to observe the pools’ endless darkness and disappearing water. Then I raised my head to take in the clear blue sky, laced by the distant contrails of passing aircraft. These are the perspectives that inspired my drawings and paintings to memorialize both the loss and recovery from that fateful day.
